Happy Hour at J.B. Quimby's

I don't know why I've spent so much time away from J.B. Quimby's. Partly because it's not on my way anywhere, unless of course I'm going to Beers of the World (which I do fairly often), or India Market to buy Indian groceries (which I did the night before last), or Thali of India to pick up take-away (which I do rarely).

Maybe also because when last I went, a year or so ago, some of the pricier beers were not on happy hour special. Arrogant Bastard, for instance, was premium price. I'm not sure if they've stopped doing that, or if I just lucked out on Tuesday night; I ordered a Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout, and it was only $2.75 (happy hour price - the same as it's been since I first went there, at least 4 years ago). They also had Troëg's Hopback Amber, Smuttynose IPA, Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter, Brooklyn Lager, and several other good drafts. Rohrbach's Scotch Ale is $2.75 all the time this month, as is Alexander Keith's Traditional Lager, a Canadian offering of which I was heretofore unaware.

And if that's not cheap enough, I believe that Thursday is two-fer night at Abilene, although I can't find confirmation of that on their website.

Who said it was prohibitively expensive to go out for a pint these days?
